Our aim
We want everyone preparing for an exam to be able to use Meddex. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA across the website and app. That is our target. It is not a certification.
What we do
- A "Skip to content" link, and a clear heading order on every page.
- Controls you can use with a keyboard, visible focus, and dialogs that keep focus inside and close with Escape.
- An Accessibility mode switch that makes pages easier to read. It appears on most pages.
- We respect the "reduce motion" setting on your device.
- Text descriptions for images that carry meaning. Purely decorative illustrations are hidden from screen readers.
- Layouts that work on phones, tablets and desktops, with text you can enlarge.
- Automated accessibility checks (axe-core) on our public pages and the signed-in app, and manual keyboard checks.
Known limits
- Timed mock exams count down to match exam conditions. That can be a barrier. In the question bank, Tutor mode lets you practise without a timer.
- Some charts show data visually. We also give the key numbers as text.
- We have not had an independent accessibility audit yet. We will update this page if we do.
Tell us about a barrier
If something is hard to use, email support@meddex.cc. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and any assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within five working days and say what we can do.
