About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Meddex, Dubai, United Arab Emirates ("Meddex", "we", "us"). They cover the Meddex website and app (the service). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Other documents belong with them: the Refund Policy, Cookie Policy, Medical and Educational Disclaimer, Acceptable Use Policy and Content and Copyright Policy.
Who can use the service
You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding agreement. The service is for nurses, doctors and other clinicians preparing for professional exams. The details you give us must be true, and you should keep them up to date.
Your account
Choose a strong password and keep it private. You are responsible for what happens under your account. One account is for one person, so do not share it or sell access. If you think someone else has used it, tell us at support@meddex.cc.
Right now your account is saved in your browser on your device. It does not sync to other devices. If you delete your browser data or your account, it is gone and we cannot bring it back.
Using the content
You get a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the service and its questions, explanations, flashcards, study plans and other material for your own exam preparation while your account is active.
You may not copy, scrape, bulk download, republish, sell, share or post the content in public. You may not use it to train or test AI systems, or remove copyright notices. A few screenshots for your own notes are fine.
Our questions are written for this service. They are not real exam questions. See the Content and Copyright Policy.
Notes and other content you add
Your notes stay yours. You let us store them and show them back to you so the service works. Do not put in patient information, other people's personal data or anything unlawful.
Acceptable use
Please follow the Acceptable Use Policy. In short: do not share accounts, scrape content, break or overload the service, try to reach other people's data, or post unlawful content.
Educational use only, no guarantee
Meddex gives you practice and study tools. It is not medical, nursing, clinical, legal or professional advice, and you must not use it to make decisions about patient care. Follow current official guidelines, your employer's protocols and your own clinical judgement.
Practice scores, mock exam results and the readiness indicator show how you did on our own practice material. They do not predict how you will do in any official exam. We cannot promise you will pass an exam, get a licence or get a job.
Meddex is an independent preparation platform and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), Prometric, UAE University or the National Institute of Health Specialties (NIHS). We use names such as DHA, Prometric, UAEU and NIHS only to say which exams learners are preparing for.
Authorities set and change exam formats, pass marks, fees and eligibility rules. Check the official source before you rely on what we say about them.
Plans and payments
Meddex is free to use today (the Starter plan). No card is needed and nothing is charged. A few features, currently full-length mock exams 2 and 3, are reserved for paid plans that are planned but not open. They cannot be bought or unlocked yet, and choosing or editing a plan in the app does not give you access to them.
Paid plans have no price yet, and there are no subscriptions, renewals or payments today. If we launch paid plans, we will show you the plan, the price, the billing period, whether it renews, how to cancel and the refund terms before you can buy, and we will update these Terms and the Refund Policy first. Renewal, cancellation and refund terms apply only from then.
We may change what the free plan includes. You can join the waitlist for paid plans in Settings or on the pricing page; joining is not a purchase.
Refunds and your consumer rights
See the Refund Policy. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under mandatory consumer law in the UAE or where you live. In the UAE, that includes the Consumer Protection Law (Federal Law No. 15 of 2020) and its executive regulations.
Availability and changes
We work to keep the service running, but we cannot promise it will never be down or have errors. We may do maintenance, add, change or remove features and content, and set reasonable limits. If we ever remove a feature you paid for, we will tell you and put it right fairly.
Our intellectual property
The service, its software, design, illustrations, questions, explanations and other content belong to Meddex or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. These terms do not give you ownership of any of it. To report an error or a possible infringement, see the Content and Copyright Policy.
Disclaimers
As far as the law allows, we provide the service and content "as is" and "as available". We do not promise they are complete, current or free of errors. Medicine and exam rules change, so check important facts against official sources.
If you find a mistake in our content, please tell us. The Content and Copyright Policy explains how.
Limits on our liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as liability for fraud or gross misconduct. Nothing in them removes your mandatory consumer rights.
Subject to that, and as far as the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or knock-on loss, loss of profit, or loss of opportunity (for example a failed exam, a delayed licence or a missed job). We are not liable for data that is stored only in your browser and is lost. Our total liability to you for anything to do with the service is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the event, or AED 500 if you paid nothing.
Misuse
If you deliberately break these terms (for example by scraping, reselling or posting unlawful content) and that costs us money or leads to a claim against us, you agree to cover that loss, as far as the law allows.
Suspending or closing accounts
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time in Settings.
We may suspend or close an account, with notice where we can, if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, if the law requires it, or to protect the service or other users.
Parts of these terms keep applying after an account ends, such as intellectual property, disclaimers, liability and governing law.
Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Emirate of Dubai and the federal laws of the United Arab Emirates applicable in Dubai.
If something goes wrong, write to support@meddex.cc first. We aim to settle complaints within 30 days. If we cannot, the dispute goes to the courts of the Emirate of Dubai. This does not remove any right you have to use a consumer complaints route or a court that mandatory law gives you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. When we do, we change the version and date at the top. For a material change we will tell signed-in users and ask them to accept the new version. It will not apply to you before then, unless the law requires an earlier change. If you keep using the service after a notice of a small change, you accept it.
Other points
If one part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. We may pass our rights to another company that takes over the service. You may not pass yours. If we do not use a right straight away, we have not given it up. If we give you a translation, the English version applies.
