What Meddex uses
Meddex itself sets no cookies. We use local storage and session storage for the service, and Google Analytics sets two cookies only if you allow Analytics. Your account and progress are saved in your browser and synced to our service provider when you are signed in, so most of the entries below are your saved data itself.
Essential storage (always on)
We need these to run the service or to do something you asked for, like signing you in or saving your progress. Cookie rules do not ask for consent for this kind of storage, so there is no switch for it. You can delete it in your browser settings or by deleting your account, but the service will not work properly without it.

Preference storage (only if you allow it)
These are small conveniences. The service works without them. We save them only if you choose Accept all, or turn on Preferences under Manage. If you say no, we do not save them. If you take your permission back, we delete them.

Analytics, ads and third-party scripts
We use Google Analytics (Google) to count visits to our public pages, such as which guides are read, so we can improve them. The script loads only after you allow Analytics in the cookie banner or in Cookie settings. It is never loaded on your signed-in study screens, sign-in pages or account pages. We turn off Google signals and ad personalisation, and we send only the page address without any query string. If you withdraw Analytics we stop sending data and delete the two cookies. We load no advertising or social media scripts.

Your choices
- The first time you visit, a banner lets you pick Accept all, Essential only, or Manage to switch each optional category on or off.
- You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings in the footer, or in Settings, Privacy and data after you sign in. Taking back your permission is as easy as giving it.
- Your browser lets you see and delete stored data for any site, and block it. If you block essential storage, sign-in and saved progress will not work.
- We keep your choice in an entry called meddex.consent. We ask again if this policy changes in a way that affects your choices (current version 1.1).
