Short answer: Read the last line first, underline the clues that change the answer, predict an answer before looking at the options, eliminate clearly wrong choices, and choose the safest, earliest or most appropriate option. If two remain, ask which one is the first thing you would do.
Read the question in the right order
Read the final line to find out what you are being asked: the diagnosis, the next step, the first action or the safest drug. Then read the scenario for the details that decide the answer. DHA says only that its exam is multiple choice and publishes no samples, so single best answer is our own practice format.
Look for clues that change the answer
Age, pregnancy, allergies, renal function, haemodynamic stability and timing often tip a question.
Predict before you peek
Form your own answer before reading the options. It protects you from attractive distractors.
Eliminate, then compare
Cross out options that are unsafe, irrelevant or too late. If two remain, compare them on priority: airway before breathing, life before limb, least invasive before most, and safety before convenience.
Watch the key words
"First", "best", "most appropriate", "immediate" and "except" change what a question wants. Slow down for them.
Flag and move on
If you are stuck for more than a minute, choose your best option, flag it and keep going. You can return with time left.
