Short answer: Practice questions work best when you answer before checking, read the full explanation every time, record the principle you learned, and revisit missed questions after a gap. Your score matters less than what you learn from each explanation.
Why questions beat re-reading
Retrieving an answer from memory strengthens it far more than re-reading the same page. Questions also reveal how topics are tested, which is hard to learn from a textbook alone.
A five-step loop
Use the same loop for every set.
- Answer without help, even if you are not sure.
- Rate your confidence: guess, unsure or sure.
- Read the explanation for the correct answer and every distractor.
- Write a one-line rule in your own words.
- Revisit the question after two or three days.
Tutor mode and timed mode
Tutor mode shows the answer after each question and is best for learning new material. Timed mode hides feedback until the end and is best for building speed. Use tutor mode early and shift toward timed sets as the exam approaches.
Do not chase the percentage
A score that goes up and down is normal because sets differ in difficulty. Look at trends by domain over several sessions. A domain that stays low across a few sets is your real signal.
Choose questions you can trust
Good questions have a single clearly best answer, explain every option and cite their sources. Be careful with unofficial material that claims to be real exam content. It may be inaccurate, and using leaked material is a risk to your licence.
